Our Politicians won't act.

By Pat Hackett. The people have given our politicians the power to act but the politicians use only words. They use only the words that the people are still allowed to use. Now even the words of the people are being silenced, being threatened as illegal and associated with terrorism. Where is our democracy? Men women and children are being brutally murdered in Palestine by a regime that the UK has deemed as our friend and ally. People in Britain alongside many people across the world feel hopeless in trying to save these people from the horrors imposed on the Palestinians . If we had a real functional democracy then people wouldn't be feeling this despair- an illness affecting the daily lives of many of us in the world. Israel boast that they represent the West because they are the only democracy in the middle east but they have a history of preventing democracies in other middle east countries.  We can and should boycott all Israeli goods but we know that is only a long term solu...

From the hidden hand to the Narcissists.   The fall of Trump and Musk.  It is clear that our Media (and many politicians) are limited in what they can openly talk about.  There is clearly nontransparent control being exerted.  I previously made the following statement within this blog regards those exerting this control:- “On world affairs there are people with obscene economic power that are obtaining extreme political power. These Oligarchs, or we could call them “ the hidden hand” are making our world an extremely dangerous place.   The false narrative from the BBC.   The hidden hand. On world affairs there are people with obscene economic power that are obtaining extreme political power. These Oligarchs, or we could call them “ the hidden hand” are making our world an extremely dangerous place. Trump, Musk, Farage etc are the public faces of this dangerous disorder but it didn't start with them; they are in fact exposing the “ hidden hand” because they are also narcissists with an insatiable desire for not only money, political power but also fame. Conspiratorial thinking/Institutionalised failings

By Pat Hackett. To thinking that scientists, universities around the world, East and West etc. would conspire to deceive the population on science is nonsense. It is completely naive to imagine that they would get round a table and say let's create a hoax that the world is round, or that the Earth moves, or that evolution is real, or that humans are causing climate change, or that we have a new virus, or that vaccines work. Conspiratorial thinking has therefore been criticised but this term has caused serious problems and been used for ulterior motives. To think that individual governments, institutions  CAN'T be corrupt is equally naive. Of course institutions and governments can have institutionalised failings.  And again, to think that they need to get round a table to do so is absurd. Asking questions on debate night

My chance to exert my democratic freedom. On the 30th of October 2024 I was in the audience of debate night Scotland. I had been selected, along with about 50 I think, to be part of the audience the week before and my next step was to put in my questions. I was told there was no agenda set so we could ask any questions we liked as long as we got them in by a set deadline. Some of the aims as stated by the organisers are along these lines. “This is when a panel of experts get questions thrown at them by you.”  “ You can ask them any question and they have to listen to you.” “Don't go home regretting the fact that you may have something that you wanted to say but didn't take the opportunity.” Great here is my chance. In today's world with so many problems staring us in the face the democratic right and chance to express thoughts, proposals, solutions etc is of extreme importance.
